JOB PURPOSE

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions.  This is a full-time hourly paid position, and benefits are included.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Duties performed by the employee in this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing all accounting functions
  • Monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Knowledge of ERP and maintenance of the financial side of the ERP system
  • Analysis of general ledger accounts
  • Bank reconciliations and other reconciliations
  • Supervision of the bookkeeper position 
  • Authorizing of payables and government remittances
  • Payroll function.  Knowledge of Kebrite or job cost payroll systems in general would be an asset.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the staff benefit package.
  • Coordination with external accounting firm for annual financial statements.
  • Daily banking and coordination with LLMT’s banking partner
  • Specialized reporting and financial analysis as requested.  This may include assisting management with cost benefit analysis with, for example, equipment purchases, or financial analysis of M&A opportunities.
  • May be required to take a Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) Ministry of Labour (MOL) Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) training course to be eligible to be a management representative on LLMT’s JHSC.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Experience:  CPA designation preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Must be fluent in English. Ability to communicate effectively; get along with co-workers and management; and deal effectively and professionally under stress. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Problem-solving skills are required to deal with a variety of office issues and tasks.
  • Other Skills: Effective organization and time management skills. Proficient in MS Excel and working knowledge of ERP Software systems and associated reporting packages. Strong financial skills. Manufacturing background an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License:  In order to perform banking tasks.

CNC Machinist/Tool Maker

COMPANY

Little Lakes Machine & Tool Co. Ltd. specializes in the development, machining and manufacture of specialty tooling and parts for the Automotive, Nuclear, Defense and Energy sectors.

JOB SCOPE

The CNC Machinist/Tool Maker will be responsible to work independently to set up, operate, monitor, and maintain multiple machines. In this role the individual could be asked to perform Turning, 3 and 4 Axis Vertical Milling, Micro-machining, 3 and 4 Axis High Speed Hard Milling, O.D. & I.D. Cylindrical Grinding, Jig Grinding, Form Grinding, Surface Grinding and RAM & WIRE EDM operations. Typical jobs are one-offs or small quantities with multiple assignments being worked on simultaneously. This is not a production shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties performed by employees in this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operations to be undertaken
  • Create general purpose programs for the assigned machines using the machine control and/or CAM software
  • Load programs to the machine control and test to prove suitability for the assigned job
  • Appropriately load/position material onto CNC machine to ensure successful operation
  • Ensure the machine is set up and production is running according to specification. Verify products are accurate and in conformance to all specifications
  • Consistently operate CNC machines to achieve optimal levels of productivity considering quality, waste, efficiency, and utilization. Further to quality, comply and adhere to all Quality Procedures as required
  • Conduct and record all quality checks at regular intervals. Must be capable of identifying equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and all quality defects. Take corrective action to adjust machine and fix defects identified
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor machine repairs as per machine specific instructions
  • Effectively perform all established machine cleaning procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Minimum three to five year’s experience operating CNC machines in a non-production environment. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Knowledge of work holding, tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various CNC machines. Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and application of such, including but not limited to callipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales. CMM experience an asset
  • Mathematical Skills:  Mathematical skills for the purpose of calculating tool manufacturing processes
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read and write Basic English. Ability to communicate effectively; get along with co-workers and management; and deal effectively and professionally under stress
  • Mechanical Skills: Ability to successfully operate the assigned machinery and apply mechanical principals to meet the desired quality and productivity (i.e., efficiency, utilization, and waste) standards
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Innovative problem-solving skills are required to deal with a variety of production issues and machine malfunctions
  • Other Skills: High attention to detail. Effective organization and time management skills. Ability to meet expectation of managing multiple work activities at the same time. Ability to work cooperatively, collaboratively and in harmony with other LLMT employees and management
